Meet Laura Lee
My path into this work started at a crossroads. I spent years in the non-profit sector, recruiting, training, and managing volunteers, and somewhere in that work I found what I actually loved: helping people succeed. Setting someone up to do their best work, watching them grow into it- that was the part that lit me up. Along the way, I discovered a love for speaking and communicating too.
When it was time for a change, I brought all of that with me into a field I stumbled into almost by accident, a Google search that turned into a real career as a Professional Organizer, and eventually into something much bigger than I expected.
Early on, I was trained to work with people who have ADHD and chronic disorganization. That training changed how I saw everything. What looks like “disorganization” from the outside is almost always something happening on the inside: a mind carrying more than it has room for, quietly making decisions on default because there’s no space left to make them on purpose.
Since then, I’ve worked with an incredibly wide range of people: individuals managing more wealth than most of us will ever see, people quietly living with hoarding disorder, and small business owners trying to build healthier, more productive teams out of scattered communication and systems that no longer worked. None of that ever mattered to me as much as one thing: whether someone had a genuine desire to make a real, lasting change. That’s still the only thing I actually screen for.
I’m a certified Identity Before Everything™ Facilitator and a Magical Mind Process™ facilitator, trained in a framework built on a simple but important idea: lasting change doesn’t come from willpower or forcing new behavior. It comes from identity. Change your behavior without changing the identity underneath it, and you snap back to what’s familiar. Change the identity, and the behavior follows.
That insight became the foundation of everything I do now. The work stopped being about closets or calendars a long time ago. It became about the thinking underneath them, the beliefs we never chose but keep living by, the overwhelm that convinces us we don’t have a choice at all.
That’s the work I do today, as Deliberate Choices. I sit with people, one on one, and help them organize their thoughts so the overwhelm can finally lift, and they can make a real, deliberate choice about the life they’re living.
I won’t tell you what’s easiest to hear, and I won’t judge you for how you got here. I’m not here to hand you a system to follow. I’m here as your accountability partner, someone who helps you build a strategy that’s actually yours and stays with you while you carry it out.
If you’re ready to stop living on default, I’d love to work with you.
I’m also available to speak in person to groups, businesses, and conferences.
